The Chachalaca Review is a student run yearly anthology. Revived in the  Fall 2016, the journal strives to include multicultural pieces, especially from aspiring students. The journal has been re-branded to contain poetry, short fiction, interviews, book reviews, and art to serve as a way of getting unpublished authors in the spotlight while creating a multicultural environment.

The Chachalaca Review is housed by the UTRGV Mexican American Studies Program. Under the direction of Dr. Christopher Carmona, the anthology is kept through the work of select UTRGV students.
